Persistent scatterer aided facade lattice extraction in single airborne optical oblique images

We present a new method to extract patterns of regular facade structures from single optical oblique images. To overcome the missing three-dimensional information we incorporate structural information derived from Persistent Scatter (PS) point cloud data into our method. Single oblique images and PS point clouds have never been combined before and offer promising insights into the compatibility of remotely sensed data of different kinds. Even though the appearance of facades is significantly different, many characteristics of the prominent patterns can be seen in both types of data and can be transferred across the sensor domains. To justify the extraction based on regular facade patterns we show that regular facades appear rather often in typical airborne oblique imagery of urban scenes. The extraction of regular patterns is based on well established tools like cross correlation and is extended by incorporating a module for estimating a window lattice model using a genetic algorithm. Among others the results of our approach can be used to derive a deeper understanding of the emergence of Persistent Scatterers and their fusion with optical imagery. To demonstrate the applicability of the approach we present a concept for data fusion aiming at facade lattices extraction in PS and optical data

Multibeam bathymetry raw data (Atlas Hydrosweep DS 3 echo sounder entire dataset) of RV POLARSTERN during cruise XXVII/1 (PS77)

Multibeam data were collected during RV Polarstern cruise ANT-XXVII/1. Data are unprocessed and may contain outliers and blunders. Therefore the data should not directly be used for grid calculations and charting projects but need to be edited furthermore. The dataset consists of files in HYPACK ASCII rawdata format (*.HSX + *.RAW). HYPACK data files can be processed using the software packages CARIS HIPS/SIPS or with the open source software package MB-System (Caress et al., MB-System: Mapping the Seafloor,http://www.mbari.org/products/research-software/mb-system/ 2021). Ancillary sound velocity profiles (SVP) for data calibration are part of this dataset publication

Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion enhances transcriptional expression of endothelin-1 and vasoconstrictor ET_B receptors via the protein kinase MEK-ERK1/2 signaling pathway in rat - Fig 6

<p><b>(A)</b> The mRNA expression levels of ET_BR in the myocardium and left anterior descending artery (LAD) homogenates in sham, ischemia-reperfusion (IR), and IR+U0126 treated rats at 3 h of IR resulted in up-regulated ET_BR mRNA compared to sham. After U0126 treatment, there was no significant upregulation as compared to sham (n = 5–8) (one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni’s multiple comparison test). <b>(B)</b> Western blot analysis revealed an ET_B receptor band at approximately 50 kDa. Quantification of ET_B receptor immunoreactivity (normalized to GAPDH) revealed increased ET_B receptor protein levels (<i>P < 0</i>.<i>05</i>) at 3 h in the IR group compared to the sham group. This was normalized in the U0126 treated group. No significant differences were found between the remaining groups (one-way ANOVA). <b>(C)</b> Immunohistochemistry of the 24 h IR group showed the localization of ET_BRs in the endothelium (arrow) of sham operated rats. In the IR+vehicle group, immunoreactivity in the VSMCs (arrow heads) in addition to the endothelium (arrow) was found. In contrast, ET_BR staining was absent in the VSMCs of the IR+U0126-treated rats.</p

Experimental protocol.

<p>A total of 48 rats were allocated into 3 surgery groups: sham, IR+vehicle, and IR+U0126. Rats in the vehicleand U0126 -treatment groups were given intraperitoneal injections with 500 μl DMSO or U0126 (30 mg/kg), respectively, 30 min before ischemia and again subcutaneously 6 hours after reperfusion. Rats were euthanized after either 3 h or 24 h of reperfusion.</p

<p><b>A.</b> There was a significant increase in ERK1/2 phosphorylation as normalized to the total ERK1/2 at 3 h of reperfusion, and this was significantly attenuated by treatment with U0126.
